2011116 Hong Kong Day 4 - Disneyland

On day 4, we checked out of Ibis North Point to go to Disneyland.

K doing a final round of bed jumping on Ibis bed :P

We took the MTR from North Point to Central, walked to Hong Kong station, before taking the Tung Chung line to Tung Chung line, then switch to Disney line at Sunny Bay.

The shuttle service from the Disneyland MTR station to the hotel is behind the MTR station, and the lack of signboards immediately after leaving the MTR leaves mommy confused.  Luckily instructions are given in the email.

We took the shuttle bus to the Disneyland Hotel to drop off our luggage and to pick up the 2 day Disneyland tickets.  At the lobby, we saw Cinderella and queued for some pictures! :)

We then took the shuttle bus back to Disneyland again.

A fountain.  The mickey mouse can move up and down.
Adults with 2 day pass have to register their index finger prints upon entrance for verification on day 2.  Children are excluded, perhaps due to the smallness of their fingers.  Mommy has problem registering her index finger print too, and had to register using her thumbprint :P

Mickey mouse again
First, we went to the Fantasyland, and saw Stitch and queue for pictures.  All the yee yees (when back at home) asked why is this Stitch so tall, when the Stitch in the movie is very short.  Well, another yee yee's reply is that if this Stitch costume is short, Disneyland will have to hire a child to do it, and that will be child labour :P

The queue for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is short, and so we queue immediately instead of applying for fast pass.  daddy videoed the whole journey, but the home broadband is so slow mommy has problem uploading the video.  K wants a 2nd round.

Next, we went toPhilharmonic show which  has 3 D effect, and comes with gusts of air (to simulate falling, etc) and water spray (to simulate water slashing).  K likes this show too.

Posing with fake mushrooms.

Posing with Dumbo.
We also went on the Mad Hatter's tea cup ride.  K keep turning the 'steering wheel' inside the cup which will spin the cup faster and faster.  Mommy gets super giddy :P
K having fun making the cup spin faster and faster
After that, its another boat ride in Its a Small World.

We then went for the next land - Tomorrow Land.  There is a ride called Space Mountain which is inside the building.  K just made it for the height limit of 102cm, and we all happily went inside.  Mommy heard the guy said 'its a roller coaster' but brush it aside.  It turned out to be a indoor roller coaster, and mommy got out of the ride with jelly legs :P  K sat with daddy and was not scared and did not scream or cry, though she did not want a 2nd round too.  Brave girl (who obviously inherited her daddy's genes too)!!!

Stitch Encounter has a long queue and so we went to watch the Parade instead.  Its flights of fantasy - Disney's 5th anniversary!

Lion King float

The floats then stopped and some of the performers went down to perform in front of the audience.  Some of the performers from the Lion King float then took out some musical stuff (like those from Australia - what do you call that) and let the children join them.  K looked abit dazed cos mommy keep lecturing her not to follow strangers and now mommy let this stranger pull her away!

more rides....

We missed the Stitch Encounter show again, and went to Adventure Land instead.  It has a cruise ride that goes through 'adventures' - seeing elephants, apes, etc.  But there is one part that has the 'river' ablaze with fire which scared Kathleen (who has a phobia of fire after watching too many rounds of the 'bomb video' that is always being shown in the MRT stations). Poor girl keep making mommy to promise that they won't go on the ride again.

Posing with Sleeping Beauty Castle

After that, we had dinner inside Disneyland before watching the nightly fireworks.

We left Disneyland after that and checked into the room (finally!).

The room consists of 2 double beds (daddy finally has his own bed) and is as big as a new HDB living room :P

K monopolises the TV as there is bedtime stories showing on channel 39.

They provide 7 kinds of toiletries with pictures of the 7 dwarfs :P

The bathroom comes with a bath tub which makes K very happy cos bath tub = private waterplay area.  The bathroom is as big as a new HDB bedroom (just for comparison).

Knowing that there is a child in this room, they even provide a child sleeping robe for kid of her size, and also a pair of child slippers (besides 2 adult slippers).  The sleeping robe cannot be brought home though.

family disney slippers

The toilet also comes with other dwarf pictures, and a low stool for kids to brush their teeth :P  There is a also a plastic cup for kids to gargle their mouth so that they do not have to use the usual glass provided which will cut down on accidents.

Before going to bed, we walked around the place and took more pictures.
