20111114 Hong Kong Day 2 - Ocean Park

Mommy found out that there is a direct bus to Ocean Park, so we took the bus on day 2 instead of taking the MTR to Admiralty station and switching to the Ocean Park bus.  Ocean Park is only 9 bus stops away via bus 42, and that took about 30minutes on a off peak morning.

From the upper deck of the bus, we can see trams moving by, and many of the old buildings, signages etc.

We got off immediately after the Aberdeen Tunnel and toll gate.  Following the signs, it took us another 15minutes of walk to reach Ocean Park (walked pass a bus terminal too).

Kathleen, as with the previous day, got tired almost immediately, and demanded to be carried for the rest of the day, including up the slopes, which there are many, in Ocean park.

First, we visited the aquarium...

Then, the panda habitat.

The poor panda is all alone, and when we were there, just walked from left to right, and back again, all the time.

Train ride...

Merry go round...

Balloon up up and away.... a small ferries wheel. Next to this ride was a small gravity defying ride, called the frog hopper.  Asked K if she dared to ride it, and she said yes.

She sat on it with daddy, since mommy is scared of such rides, and she LOVED it!  Begged for another round of frog hopper, and not to be outdone (else no face), mommy  joined her for round 2.  Daddy took video of that 2nd ride.  Not uploading so as not to embarrass myself :P K wanted a 3rd round. Sorry but no thanks.

We then took the cable car to the upper area of Ocean Park.  Can see the beautiful sea view from there.

Unfortunately, both the Rapids and Raging River (the 2 water rides) are closed.

Asked daddy to sit on The Flash, this ride which turned around and swing up and down at the same time.  He is not scared (see that happy face in below picture when he got off the ride).

Next, we queued for at least 20minutes for the Ferris wheel.  Hot.......and K refuse to stand, wanting to be carried.

A picture of K riding the scaring Abyss????

Sorry, its just a prop! :P

Then we took the 'express' back to the lower part of Ocean Park and took bus 42 back to the hotel.
K always like to open the hotel doors using the magnetic card
At night, we walked around the area, and found 许留山, the dessert chain that is famous for its mango desserts with its generous amount of sweet mango pieces.  Even mommy, who is not a mango fan, loves it *drooolllllll*

We also found the famous 鸡蛋仔stall in North Point area, but too bad the 鸡蛋仔 is not piping hot, just lukewarm, which takes away some of its flavour, but K still likes it very much.
