Kathleen has now started her life as a Kiva lender after mommy read about it in her fellow December baby friend's blog at the-upperroom.com

Hopefully Kathleen will grow up to understand and appreciate how human beings should, and can help each other.

It will be quite some time before she can understand all this though....

Yesterday afternoon, Papa saw some ulcers in Kate's mouth. A visit to the doctor confirmed that she have HFMD. She have ulcers in her mouth and lesions on her buttocks, thighs, and feet and is rejecting food and water....

Poor baby comforting herself with a toy .....

Some of the spots on her thigh....
Hope she recover soon!

Afternote :
Since many blogs about HFMD only copy and paste info from KKH's website, mommy decided to put down her progress for the different days. Hopefully this info can serve as a guide as she was unable to find such info when Kate first started having HFMD.

Day 0 (Sat) : on-off fever

Day 1 (Sun) : on-off fever, ulcers appearing, HFMD diagnosed by GP

Day 2 (Mon) : fever gone. More lesions appearing. Refuse food and drink. Only drink very little FM. In the end even boycott milk as papa keep nagging her to drink water. Cried everytime milk bottles touches her mouth as the water causes her pain.

Day 3 (Tue) : Refuse all except for 2/3 rounds of milk. Still crying whenever she drank her milk.

Day 4 (Wed) : Mommy friend Tan SL suggested giving her ice cream, so mommy tried yoghurt and Kate finished the whole serving! Mommy is very happy and bought more yoghurt. Cried less when drinking milk.

Day 5 (Thur) : Kate still only FM and yoghurt only. But no longer cried when the milk bottle touches her lips. Insisted on her yoghurt.

Day 6 (Fri) : started drinking abit of plain water, but only when its from the yoghurt container. Mommy cooked pasta for her and she finished it. :)

Day 7 (Sat) : finally started drinking from her sippy cup again! Had 2 rounds of solid - rice, and porridge. Ulcers in mouth cleared off. Now always ask mommy for yoghurt by gesturing for her to open the fridge.

Day 8 (Sun) : to be updated

Earth Hour Star Party organised by Republic Poly....

Kate and papa watching a video about the telescope...

Itinerary for the day....

Kate up to her usual antics again...

Fries at RP's canteen.. after that, we went home for her nap....

At night, the whole family went to East Coast Park for the night event. Dinner is at McDonald's, where the staff switch off some (not all) of the lights at 8.30pm. Kate is not really happy, as she threw up in the car due to the massive jam and started becoming feverish.
We went to Area D where RP's students set up some telescopes so that the public can view celestial sights such as the Orion Nebula, Sirius (not the bad guy in Harry Potter!) and Saturn. The sky was quite clear though there are clouds, and the air is warm without wind.
NParks did not switch off the lights in conjunction with Earth Hour...
Below is a pic of Kate and papa queueing up to look through one of the telescopes. She does not appreciate that small eye piece....

Playing with her free light stick....

One morning many months ago, Papa drove Kate to nanny's place, and there was this skinny, tiny, malnorished-looking kitten that was loitering around the car park and refuse to go away (and mommy is so afraid that papa will hit the kitten when he drove away).

Nanny later told mommy that the kitten follow them home one day and her Malay neighbours adopted the kitten.

Today, Crystal jie jie brought the kitten over, and the kitten has now grown into a big, healthy and beautiful cat.

Nanny bought this for Kate for last X'mas (or was it the X'mas before?) and it is only now that the top looks fitting on her...
