Chinese New Year 2011

Been so busy with work that I did not have time to upload the CNY pictures...

Firstly, below is the first human drawing (center of picture, with yellow face) that I have seen her draw.  And she said the figure drawn is mommy! :) When I asked her where are my hands, she put her hands behind her back to indicate that I have my hands behind (which is why she did not draw the hands).

Here are the updates for Chinese New Year....

Day 1 : went to yeye's place.  Kathleen has fun playing bubbles with her cousin...

Day 2 : went round the island visiting the different yee yee's house.

Vain mommy pasted glow-in-the-dark nail stickers on her fingernails and toenails ahahahah....

that wrinkled kneecap belongs to mommy...

Kathleen have a super fun time at er yee yee's place, cos they got a dog and the little girl was acting like a dog, jumping up and down and snatching Megan's (the dog) toys from her.  At first, Megan was very scared and was even shivering at the sight of so many people, but after a while, she warmed up and have a fun time with Kathleen and even chase after Kathleen when she walked away!

Po Po this year planted the red carrot using soil and it was blooming so nicely! :)

Day 3 : went to mommy's secondary school's house

And the neighbour's next door hired a lion dance troop (its an annual tradition) and so Kathleen gets a close up with the lion dance!

lion dance got truncated cos some kid block the side with his/her elbow.
After the house visitation, mommy brought Kathleen to a nearby field to play their newly bought kite.  Kathleen does not like her kite flying up high even though it was easy to do so with the strong winds.  She like her kite low and within reach! So mommy and Kathleen walked home with the kite just 1 meter above their heads (see picture below) and Kathleen was beaming because she is so happy (the window is so strong there is not much problem in getting the kite to fly even though we only release a bit of the string)

Unfortunately, Kathleen later snapped the stick supporting the kite so no more kite flying.... :(

The next weekend, daddy, mommy and Kathleen made their way to Sentosa to visit the annual flower exhibition.
Kathleen consulting the Sentosa map...

A picture of the stain glass on the roof taken by Kathleen

The area, as usual, is pretty small, which makes it easy to go without over-tiring, though the heat is abit unbearable, and the crowd is there.

Kathleen's favourite part is the cool mist coming out of the holes on the ground, not the flowers..

this looks more like easter bunnies (one of them have an egg) rather than year of the rabbit.

another of her favourite - the water shooting out of the strange sculptures.
We went over to Festive Hotel, and the flowers there are shaped in the 12 zodiac animals. Very nice!

Peep through the gates of Universal Studio and see Kungfu panda....

After that, we went back to mainland via the boardwalk which is hidden in one corner of the RWS area.  Nothing interesting, but Kathleen likes the travellator....
